Another cafe we hit on at Jalan Riang, La Pizzaiola. They serve pretty good italian food. Modernized decoration with rustic feel. Prices were definitely reasonable for the food served. Not the best but above average for the price! The name of the dishes are really fanciful. Later you’ll see what i mean by that. HAHA. Their service are really friendly too. Serve your dish with a smile and always checking on how do you find the dishes.
Soup of the day, mushroom soup ($8.90). It is well blended from the fresh ingredients. It is smooth to the throat and with the added olive oil, its not to oily, but instead brings out the aroma of the soup. Each of us ordered 2 mains – Pizzoccheri Della Valtellina ($14.90) and Stinco di Agnello Stufato ($19.90). I’m sure you’re wondering what are all these dishes about?? Pizzoccheri Della Valtellina is handmade whole grain pasta with butter, sage, potato and cheese. Its served like in a bread pot, undiscover the mystery within it. haha. the dough is rather soft and with it, it preserves the moisture, taste and flavour of the dish. The baked cheese is generous and flowy! & it’s flavoured with a lil of herbs. The wholegrain pasta, is not overwhelm with wholegrain taste, so the taste is actually still quite acceptable. Stinco di Agnello Stufato is braised lamb shank, white wine, fresh tomatoes with mashed potatoes. Cant really taste the white wine, it isnt really fused into the dish, but the braised lamb shank is tender and easily detached from the bone. It is well braised as it is flavourful and soft, literally just melts in your mouth.
whats a complete meal without desserts right? so we ordered Torta Pistocchi ($9.90) which is Florence dark chocolate cake. a must try for chocolate lover! Its bitter sweet cause of the dark chocolate, but really nice! It’s super chocolatey. but the healthy way cause its dark chocolate!
