Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, at the junction of Wishart and Morse Road, sits the minimalist designed Fuel Plus Cafe. Open its door to a bright yet cosy interior with vintage tiles overlaying the wooden tables. Not too big a cafe to start off with.
Small cafe but with an extensive menu. Also, both food and drinks items are pretty impressive!
Fuel Iced Tea ($5) – A tropical summer drink which suits the beach well! Cocktail of refreshingly blended citrus fruit juice and iced tea! Sweet and sour with a hint of tea flavor.
Soft Shell Crab Curry ($17) – Quite an unusual dish to begin with. Rich and creamy curry was heavily flavored with indian spices and herbs. The crispy soft shell crab was meaty and juicy which I must admit, surprisingly goes well with the curry. Of course, what’s curry without bread/baguette right? It the best ever pairing with any gravy base!
Pork Chop and Sweet Potato Mash ($17) – Another nicely done dish with the pork chop grilled to tender and its moisture retained. Lightly flavored and it goes well with the cream sauce.
Truffle Salmon Mac & Cheese ($17) – What could goes wrong with a Mac & Cheese dish right? As long as the cheese flavors are there and the Macs are cooked! Like how this dish was packed with various accompaniments such as the mushroom and smoked salmon which lighten yet brighten the overall flavor of the dish such that it was not too overwhelming. Love the savoriness of the cheese but a little more cheesy will be preferred as it gets a little too dry towards the end.
All in all, though it’s a small cafe, but it dish up creative sumptuous food!
