Decided to make some changes to the way i blog. Always believe pictures speaks a thousand words! Should probably spend my effort in photos and editing! Anyway first attempt to a vlog! Though basic hope it’s not too bad!
Made a 4D3N trip down to Penang last week and set our foot on some exploration. We checked in to our accommodation, Hotel Jen, which was conveniently located at the heart of George Town and just minutes walk to the streets arts, interactive museums, chew jetty and the home to all hipster cafes and local delights!
You can simply spend a day and half to hunt down all the streets paintings, pop in to some of the museums like Upside Down museum, Made in Penang Interactive Museum followed by a stroll down Chew Jetty and a coffee break at any of the hipster cafes! A good day to hunt down the street painting will probably be one of the weekends, as most of the mural arts at located along the Lebuh Armenian street and on the Saturday we went, there were some pop up stalls lined up along the street too.
While you are done with that, spend another day at Penang Hill to catch the panoramic overview of the whole Penang Town before heading down hill to satisfy your stomach with some Assam Laksa (Air Itam Laksa). Thick intense flavored gravy, a little sweet and sour, and loaded with minced mackerel fish. Grab down to Corgi and the Gang cafe for a fluffy good time! Housed not only Corgi but also Shiba, Husky and some other breeds! Did I mention that, grabbing or ubering is really cheap and affordable over there? If you’re traveling with a group of 3-4 people, just grab a car or uber to bring you to your next destination. One of the more affordable transport you can find over there! Slightly before evening, if you bought a 24hours ticket for the hop on hop off bus, you can take the beach route and alight at The Floating Mosque for a glimpse before heading down to the Batu Feringghi. They do have a night market at Batu Feringghi, but it’s well underwhelming. Would suggest, if you have more time in the day, you can make a trip to Penang National Park and take a boat ride over to Monkey Island. After which end your day at Gurney Plaza for some shopping and massage!
Check out the complete itinerary in the video! Don’t miss out trying other famous food like Duck Egg Char Kway Teow, Red Bean Ice, Curry Mee, Lor Bah, Wanton Mee, Oyster Omelette, Hokkien Mee and Chendol!
Till the next Vlog!
